If you’re in the process of looking for a new piece of wall art, you’ve undoubtedly come across the term Abstract Art, and might not know exactly what it means. In this post I am going to briefly discuss the fundamental principles behind these types of works.
The basis of abstract art is that it uses forms, colors and lines to create imagery that may not be completely recognizable from the visual world around us. What this means to us is that abstract art does not contain images of people, landscapes, animals, etc. Although abstract pieces lack what most people consider requirements for something to be called a work art, it is important to understand that they are still a representation of the artist’s creativity and uniqueness. The goal after all for most artists is to create something that is visually appealing to the eye, and this can successfully be achieved through only the use of abstract components.
Consider this piece of art work below:

Although there are no concrete visual images in it that we are accustomed to seeing, it is still a beautiful work that would add a contemporary style to any type of space. Notice the artist’s use of varying color, shapes and designs, and how they all come together to form one unified piece. Most metal wall art sculptures follow these abstract guidelines.
In conclusion, it is important to remember that these types of abstract works, although primarily viewed as only a decoration, are still creative expressions of the artists themselves.
